Going for the natural alternative on skincare!

“12 Days Later” it’s like a title of a movie, it’s been 12 days since my last post, whoa I know, I feel guilty since this blog is my effort in starting and going the distance and not getting bored and moving to something else...bad blogger.
So lets recap the last few days, still busy with the box packing grrr, getting excited over what to wear for my getaway next week were sand and pristine tropical water awaits (also an endless supply of fresh coconut water) which currently means looking for a wide brim hat since I forgot my Panama hat somewhere but so far no luck, plus trying out my new skincare among other randomness.
Ok on the skincare thing I just got the Natural Acne Solutions from Burt’s Bees and so far so good, smells terrific and my skin feels soft and the smell is something between lemon grass and licorice yummy good, before I used Loreal’s Pure Zone but then one day it was out of stock so I got Neutrogena’s instead and honestly I didn’t feel it was that effective (my face felt bumpy dunno how to explain it), my skin is not prone to acne but it gets the occasional zit and blackheads so I like to be vigilant and since the usual suspects were not working as good I decided to give natural a chance complete with natural DIY Pore Strips woot!

While at it I also bought a lip shimmer in nutmeg which is a golden-brown color with their typical peppermint smell and the rejuvenating lip balm with açai berry and this one smells like something I’d like to eat, again very good and yummy in a non plastic or artificial sort of way.

Oh and if you are interested on the DIY pore strips:

*mix 1 tablespoon of milk and 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin (powder)

*pop in the microwave for 10 seconds (I had to do 20 seconds because the mixture was not homogeneously heated)

*apply with a brush to your nose, forehead and cheeks or wherever you need dirt to be bye bye

*let dry and remove as you would a normal pore strip!

Very easy/effective! Plus environmentaly friendly!

BTW I got all the products with my own $$$ as this is an un-endorsed post!

I love Burt's Bees lip balm. That's the only type that I use.

@Heather: I used to only use BB but then got into L'occitane which was really good mainly 'coz of the tint but barely anything beats BB lip balm, maybe Rosebud Salve?
@Christine: jajaja yes I do (studied in Milano) and I love finding italian blogs and buying books to keep the language as fresh as possible!
