Bad Vogue Italia. Bad.

Why Franca? Why did you ever allow this?
Sure we can look at this as a commentary on the situation from a fashion standpoint, showing the gloominess that comes from being careless and where we could all end up if corporations (and governments) continue to prioritize profits over security, research for better protocols and alternative energy sources, but then, wasn’t it easier to write an article and show the real pictures? The real destruction and helplessness of the animal victims instead of adding insult to injury with so many designer pieces that were ruined while Kristen McMenamy rolled around filth doing her best dead bird pose? In one of the images she looks like a zombie extra from Resident Evil throwing up something disgusting and probably radioactive.
Just as easy she could have been pretend cleaning pelicans while still dressed to the nines or some other staged situation that was more respectful.
The feeling I get is they were mocking the animals and their suffering, just putting an end of the world kind of set to good use no?
Vogue Italia was leading the charge so far with the Black Issue recreated with Barbie and all but now…grrrrr.
What do you make of this editorial?

everybody's kinda heating up about this editorial, so I guess Vogue Italia can pat themselves on their backs - the world is talking.

maybe they weren't sure about the idea of this shoot too, because the message is so contradictory, I am not sure I am able to form an opinion about it, so I just might let it go and not think about it too much.

and, no offence, Vogue, but I have some serious doubt about their knowledge of the screwed up situation with oil and water.

Indeed when it comes down to it they got the attention they wanted, so for them it works either way.
